Our aims
To advance scientific research in Australia’s alpine and sub-alpine regions which are sensitive to ever-increasing threats, the AIAS aims to achieve the following objectives:
promote research in alpine and sub-alpine areas of Australia
facilitate cooperative projects between alpine researchers
share information on current alpine research in both Australia and internationally
liaise with international mountain research organisations
convene regular seminars to share alpine research
